Norwegian manhole covers

When travelling it’s those small differences to home that catch my eye. I was impressed by the beauty of Norwegian manhole covers. I loved the way they are designed specifically for that town or area. During our visit to Ålesund we were promised beautiful art nouveau buildings but the street design underfoot was much more impressive.

They are great, I am interested/curious in all types of signs/plaques/markers etc in cities. A lot of people don’t notice but they appreciate a little more if you can show them together cheers!

Lovely! The Oslo one, which represents St Hallvard, the city’s patron saint, is very nice too :-) . Found this pic online http://manholecoverphotos.tumblr.com/#781501711
